Here’s the second part. As I have mentioned in my previous post, I would be sharing the entire list bit by bit. Any reactions on the whole deal would be welcome.
- I’d rather spend time promoting my stuff than a clients. If I fail its my problem and at least I didn’t have to listen to my client
- SEO is not a panacea for not having a product of your own.
- Go to a conference its so much better discussing this stuff in person and honestly its more fun.
- Forums are the suxors but you need to pick at least one to keep abreast of issues you may have missed.
- Just because someone can argue well online doesn’t mean they know jack shit.
- If you don’t have your own data to draw your own conclusions then you don’t know anything despite how much you read.
- Don’t spend to much time arguing online. Its pointless. Spend that time proving or disproving your ideas for yourself.
- If you want to make money with affiliate programs and your just starting out keep making sites. Make them big and small and in between but keep making them till your fingers bleed. Once you have a hundred then go back and see what is the most successful and then spend time on those.
- The thing that is in the shortest supply online is creativity.
- Don’t be afraid to be wrong and listen to the counsel of those who are honest.
- Always try to find the successful mans networks, once you do don’t be an ass and out them just look and learn and if you feel like it warn them how you did it.

I came across a really interesting post and after reading the whole thing, I decided that it was worth sharing with you guys. See, this post is about the 73 things about SEO which has been penned by the Web Professor.
I’m going to be sharing the list bit by bit and I would like to hear reactions about what you may think about the list.
- Search Engine Optimization is fairly straight forward there are no secrets.
- Search Engine Optimization is marred by the fact anyone can discuss online and seem like an expert.
- Online Marketing is where its at, and that should encompass SEO
- The best blackhat stuff is not detectable by the search engines or people.
- If you can’t program or pay someone to program you will be stuck using the same tools as everyone else.
- Statistics and math are where its at. There are no fast answers in this business.

One factor that most SEO believe search engines look at is the relationship between your content and your keyword. I remember in the old days when you can get away with writing content and just plugging in a keyword which is totally unrelated to the context of the page. It doesn’t work anymore.
Google has been very successful with knowing what the overall theme of a certain web page is about. In fact that is the cornerstone algorithm for their adsense program. Google ads nowadays really match the content of the web page. Do you think google doesn’t apply the same algorithm for matching your keywords with your content for organic search results?
I’ve posted about keywords in title, h1 tags, and body of the text in previous posts but one of the things to consider is that it has to be consistent with the overall theme of your content. One question you might ask yourself is, does your content support the ‘keyword’? Does any of your paragraphs talk about something else not part of they keyword?
Example, your keyword is “nike shoes”. Do you also talk about “prom shoes” or “leather shoes” in the same webpage? If you catch yourself doing that, then you might be hurting your own ranking.
Just to give an idea on what to write about, think of subcategory or subsets of your keyword. In our example “nike shoes” you might talk about benefits of nike shoes, costs of nike shoes, different types of nike shoes, different categories of nike shoes (ie nike basketball shoes, nike tennis shoes..etc).
But of course don’t delve into much details of a subtopic. It is best to create a new webpage for each of your subtopics.
So next time you create a content, take a second look if your content matches your keyword?

Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) is rebranding Doubleclick Inc. as Google Affiliate Network . So google is now taking on the Affiliate network industry and competes with affiliate network heavyweights such as ValueClick’s Commission Junction and LinkShare.
This move isn’t a surpise since google has been in the business for quite some time with its google adsense program which is based on “cost-per-click” business model. It’s just a matter of time they enter the “Cost-per-action and Cost-per-lead” business model offered by affiliate network.
I’ll definitely try this one out and see how it goes.
Has anyone tried this yet? Your feedback is most welcome here at the comments area.

This just got in, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) approached some media companies for a possible partnership to cook up a new deal with Yahoo (NASDAQ: YHOO).
“It’s clear that they’re still interested,” said Neele, who doesn’t hold Microsoft or Yahoo shares. “Microsoft still has this tiny problem in search: They’re losing market share to Google. If they want to deal with that seriously, they need to buy market share or invest in it themselves and that hasn’t been successful so far.”
I think Microsoft really wanted Yahoo’s search business. It’s the most logical thing to do to increase their search market share. Now I guess, yahoo’s shareholders who really wanted to cash in on the deal would be very much happy to hear about this. Currently, yahoo’s share price is in the low $20s and seeing another Microsoft lead deal at $30+ per share would be awesome.
To all yahoo shareholders out there, what can you say about this? Do you want yahoo to close the deal? Let us hear your comments.

Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Adsense Referrals (not Adsense itself) will be retired by end of August. This was due to the integration of Doubleclick to Google Affiliate Network. They would like to focus more on the Affiliate network.
Adsense referrals works like an affiliate program wherein you make money when a new person enters the adsense program and make money. Such income was supplemental to the monthly adsense income publishers get and I believe a lot of people are going to miss this.
Nevertheless, it’s time to use those precious real estate for something that can make more money so don’t forget to take down all those adsense referral icons and replace it with an affiliate link or other money making venture.

I haven’t gone through the new Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) gadgets available but here’s my top 5 google gadgets that are installed on my desktop.

#1 Performance Meter
I love this gadget because I can visually see how much computer resources have already been used. I used to fire up my task manager to see this but now, it right there on my sidebar.
#2 Net Meter
This I got to have because I sometimes download torrent files and I can see my overall download/upload speed. Seeing 0% in the upload bar reminds me to fire up azureus vuze so it’ll share my download library and gain up some good share ratios.
#3 workspace Manager
Sometime I just need a new workspace to keep my screen tidy. I guess the habit came from using Linux Gnome.
#4 Google Desktop News and Digg Top Stories
I always want to know what’s going on and what’s popular in Digg so this google gadget is perfect.
#5 Google Desktop Email Gadget
This shows me new the subject and a 1 liner of incoming mails so I don’t need to login to my gmail account that often.
How about you? What’s your top 5 Google Gadget

I just read from NYtimes.com that Google is planning to distribute original film via internet exclusively and then make money on ad sales.
“In September, Seth MacFarlane, creator of “Family Guy” on television, will unveil a carefully guarded new project called “Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy.” Unlike “Family Guy,” which is broadcast on Fox, this animation series will appear exclusively on the Internet.
The innovative part involves the distribution plan. Google will syndicate the program using its AdSense advertising system to thousands of Web sites that are predetermined to be gathering spots for Mr. MacFarlane’s target audience, typically young men. Instead of placing a static ad on a Web page, Google will place a “Cavalcade” video clip.”
I think this will be a start of a new era in making money online. This model surely makes sense and because people can watch this anytime they like and as often as they like, more and more people would be watching such videos and film over the net.
Hey, if Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) may one day EXCLUSIVELY distribute popular TV series such as 24, Sex and the City, Lost and other hit series, then I might as well carry these “feeds” in my website and do massive SEO on it so people will watch these series on my website and hopefully earn from it as well.

Travel to Asia and start a survey. Ask people you meet if they use the internet. If they answer yes to that question, then continue to ask them just what search engine they use when looking for something.
Well, congratulations to Google and Yahoo, two of the biggest search engines in the entire cyberspace. See, these two are the top ranking search engines in the largest continent in the world. And, it is also interesting to note that these two are joined by Baidu. For April, these three search engines have reigned the entirety of Asian cyberspace. These are all according to a survey which was done by comScore.
Among the three, Google is king for it owns39.1% share of all the searches done last April this year. Yahoo follows close owning 24% and Baidu comes next with 16.7%. So if you would be putting that in numbers, just imagine how many people use Google, Yahoo and Baidu in Asia alone.
